Novatec launches "NTSH7764" evaluation board for Renesas' SH7764 microprocessor, targeted for industrial embedded devices to multimedia devices.

Novatec Corporation (Tokyo, Japan; CEO: Ichiro Saji) announces the launch of their new evaluation board, "NTSH7764" using Renesas Technology's SH7764 microprocessor.
Product will be available for purchase from April 24.
"NTSH7764" is an evaluation board developed by Novatec, and it can be used to evaluate SH7764 for various applications including digital audio devices such as HDD audio players and network audio players, multimedia devices such as car navigation systems, and embedded devices for industrial applications.
Manufacturers can reduce development costs and shorten time to market by using this board for system prototypes and for developing software until the hardware is completed.
Main Features:
- All features of SH7764 on 200mm x 240mm board.
- IDE(ATAPI) interface for HDD/CD drives and on-board 1Gbyte NAND Flash memory.
- 1 port 10/100Mbps LAN, 1 port USB2.0 Host, 2 channels Serial Interface.
- Audio Out x3 channels, Audio In x1 channel (mini jack).
- JTAG-ICE debug port.
- LCD controller/RGB output for display purposes.
- Linux boot program and Linux OS stored on Flash memory so that Linux development environment will be available upon power on. (Linux drivers for peripheral devices also provided)
This product also implements on-chip debug features so that real-time debug on maximum frequency is possible. JTAG ICE for efficient software debugging is can be provided by Sophia Systems.
